Liberalism kills again, this time in California

(Freedom.news) Billions of people the world over have witnessed how dangerous the ideology behind radical Islam can be. There isn’t a week that goes by when there’s not some horrific act of violence committed in the name of Islam, somewhere in the world.

A few weeks ago, the target was Paris, for the second time this year. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, 130 innocent people were dead, scores more wounded, and a nation was seething with anger.

The most recent act was committed in the United States of America, in San Bernardino, Calif., specifically, resulting in the death of 14 people, with another 17 wounded. From the outset you could tell, just by listening to the FBI agent in charge, that the federal government early on believed the shooting was very likely committed by terrorists. In fact, eyewitnesses and local law enforcement officials acknowledged that the FBI quickly became involved in the investigation.

Now, inevitably, there will be questions raised by the American people as to why U.S. intelligence officials failed to detect this plot that we’ll all likely discover was much bigger and involved more people than just the three suspects (two of whom are dead) known to authorities at this time.

But the fact is authorities might have learned about this plot in the weeks leading up to it, were it not for another dangerous and, ultimately debilitating, ideology: Liberalism.

In a little-noticed report by the local CBS News affiliate, a man who lived near where the two dead suspects – who were of Middle Eastern descent – lived said he had seen as many as a half-dozen young men with what he believed were Middle Eastern physical characteristics filtering in and out of the suspects’ home for several days prior to the shootings, activity that he intimated was out of the ordinary.

But he didn’t report it to authorities because, according to the CBS affiliate, “he did not wish to racially profile those people.”

“We sat around lunch thinking, ‘What were they doing around the neighborhood?’” he said, noting that he had discussed the activity with some of his friends.  “We’d see them leave where they’re raiding the apartment.”

So, fear of being called a racist bigot prevented someone familiar with his own neighbors and neighborhood from reporting what he knew in his soul to be suspicious activity – all because he didn’t want to be mislabeled by some liberal.

This isn’t, of course, the first time liberalism has killed. Think of all the American victims of illegal alien criminals who are permitted to freely roam our streets, thanks to insane “sanctuary city” policies implemented in hundreds of communities and metropolitan regions all across the country by liberal elected officials and administrators.

In those cases as well, liberal and Marxist racialists have so chilled any debate about such policies – labeling opponents racist bigot nativists and the like – that many Americans avoid discussing them for the same reason the guy in San Bernardino decided not to say anything about activity he knew to be out of the ordinary, because the people involved were minorities protected by the PC speech police. In fact, we see this disturbing phenomenon playing out right now, today, on a growing number of American college campuses.

There are radical religious ideologies that are directly responsible for the deaths of millions. But there are also dangerous, equally radical political ideologies, and there can little doubt, given the evidence, that liberalism is one of them.

While liberals themselves may not pick up weapons and gun people down, the policies they adopt and the political correctness they demand have certainly made it easier for those with bad intentions to do bad things to good people.
